Who always gets sick and has hence learned how to cope with it without help, who gets ill once a year and insists on being cared for by the former as if they are dying

“It’s just a cold, Chakotay. Take a hypospray and sleep. Now I have a meeting that I must attend in twenty minutes,” Kathryn sighed as she sat on the end of the bed and handed him the hypospray. She had thought her angry warrior could handle anything. He had been her rock on Voyager. His “warrior” facade had started to dwindle after they had started to live together. He was always showing her new sides to him, but this one was starting to become tiresome.
She had been fighting a cold for a few weeks and was starting to finally feel better. Kathryn had suffered through it. Taken a hypospray for the headaches and moved on. Chakotay? No.
The minute he had developed a small cough and sniffle, Chakotay had all but locked himself in their room and hadn’t left for going on three days now.
“Kathryn. Just postpone. You haven’t missed a day of work since our return to the Alpha Quadrant. They’ll understand. Please, just come back to bed and stay with me?” His head poked out from under the blankets and her heart melted. He knew he had struck gold and prodded her through the blanket with his feet.
“We could lay in bed, listen to that holonovel you love, replicate some mushroom soup, and then–”, he sneezed and dissolved into a fit of coughing. Kathryn raised her hand to him and rolled her eyes.
“Yes. Jean Luc, Owen, Will; would you mind if I postponed our meeting? Captain Chakotay, the mighty Maqui rebel, has come down with a cold and–”, Chakotay sat up and placed a finger over her lips.
“And…he needs his beautiful Admiral by his side,” his dimpled grin emerged as her cheeks flushed a beautiful Command Red.
“Fine. You win this time. *This* time, Mister,” she was all smiles as she stripped her jacket off and grabbed her robe from the bathroom door. Chakotay didn’t quite understand what she was up to until she sat down at her comm unit. She wrapped the robe around her, took her hair down and mussed it a bit, and placed a call to her secretary.
Chakotay laid back onto his pillow and smiled as Kathryn began to explain her absence from Starfleet Command that day.
