Oh wow, am I old! 😊Nahh, you’re not old, we just started late.
I saw it when it first aired (which was 1996 here) but I didn’t ship anything back then, because I was an innocent child.
But the beauty about that is that when I finally fell in love with J/C it was like a revelation and a whole new show.
I discovered Voyager this last summer (Summer 2016). I was (and still am) at such a rough stage in my life.
I work four jobs, relentlessly, and rarely have any extra funds to show for it. I had already been a HUGE fan of Kate from OITNB.
Every one of my sci-fi friends told me that it “wasn’t worth my time” and “wasn’t a role I wanted to see Kate in”.
Holy. Shit. The ride that I took through the Delta Quadrant had its ups and downs, but it saved me. Lord, did it save me.
I needed something to fall in love with again. And it was the amazing relationship (even if it didn’t completely come to fruition) between Kathryn and Chakotay.
I may be late to the game, but, damn! Janeway x Chakotay: 2016-Eternity!
