Badass Things Captain Janeway Has Done: A Comprehensive List

• sure. Janeway is awesome, period, day-to-day, across the board, but has anyone compiled a list of those things she has done? the Completely Over-The-Top 100% Pure Boss Ass Bitch things, that is? 
• Because I think we need that list. For science.
• I mean as @latinum-tooth-sharpener has pointed out
• She literally stares Death itself in the face and tells him to fuck off
• but the thing is
• that’s just for openers
• She also:
• literally stares Fear itself in the face and tells him to fuck off
• Near-singlehandedly saves entire ship and crew from floating macrovirus monsters
• Keeps running her starship, and ultimately saves it from hostile intruders, even after said intruders have driven metal spikes into her skull, kept her from sleeping for 96 hours straight, and deliberately adjusted her brain chemistry to push her to the breaking point
• After getting tractored into the belly of a ship 10000x beyond the Federation’s most advanced technology, grabs a rifle and stands in front of the entrance so that whatever happens to the crew when Voyager is boarded will happen to her first
• Keeps nearly all of her 150+ crew alive while marooned on a volcanically active planet feat. hostile humanoids, deadly monsters and extreme temperatures, while armed with nothing more than sticks and stones
• GRABS A GUN AND IS FIRST PERSON TO SLIDE DOWN CHUTE INTO PIT OF HUNDREDS OF ANGRY, VIOLENT PRISONERS TO RESCUE TWO OF HER CREW
• In order to save Kes, volunteers for ritual requiring grueling physical excercise, rock climbing sans safety equipment, getting poisoned with venom that leaves her in great pain and unconsious, and, ultimately, willingly humbling herself and questioning her own beliefs about life/the universe/everything
• Manually launches photon torpedo to save the 29th-century solar system from greedy serial killer, risking scorching/death from plasma exhaust
• Participates in a potentially-deadly mind meld to save her Vulcan bff from an alien virus
• okay take a seat because this is my favorite–
• casually, offscreen, CARRIES a wounded Q across enemy lines in a burning Continuum, dodging immortal weapons fire, until she finds his beleaguered allies…WHILE WEARING A HOOP SKIRT.
• THEN tears a white flag from her petticoat, tells Q to stfu and get ready to make peace, walks to the enemy commander to persuade him to open negotiations, and, when all else fails and she’s facing a firing squad, keeps her chin up and uses her final request not to plead for her own life but for peace in the Continuum.
• (Sweet jeebus.)
• While wounded and unarmed, gets stalked through her broken ship by an alien who has been trained all his life to be a hunter…and kills him
• Pwns a genocidal double agent at his own game
• After living with her own guilt for five years leaves her clinically depressed and effectively suicidal, ultimately accepts the support of her crew to recover and stay with them
• and then keeps fighting
• and protecting the ship
• and her crew
• and navigating through the Delta and Beta Quadrants
• for the next eighteen years
• in the original timeline
• (let THAT sink in for a minute)
• And when she reaches Earth, at the age of sixty-two, after twenty-three years of constant trauma, injuries, stress and exhaustion, IMMEDIATELY starts researching ways to get her ship home FASTER
• And even after Admiral Janeway makes it back in time
• And younger!Janeway hears about everything she and her loved ones are going to lose
• She nonetheless is willing to sacrific their way home, again, to save millions of lives from the Borg
• But of course they manage both instead
• Thus arriving home with 85%+ of her original crew alive, in only 10% of the time is should have taken them to get there
• in other words what I’m saying here
• is that Captain Kathryn Janeway literally stares time, death, grief, the rules of the Federation, and the very laws of the reality in the face
• and tells them to fuck right off
• and wins.
