A few weeks ago I was swamped with commissions. I made a mental note of a conversation I had with @cheile whereby she stated that she would like to see my take on Cadet Janeway. I made this mental note as I too wished to see what my take on her would be. This was the result.
I pictured her with her PADD cramming for that exam she left to late to study for, Boots off, bare feet in the cool grass, watching the sun go down and the first stars of the evening appearing just over the horizon. Of course, a handy travel mug (Hopefully they still have those in the future!) containing her favourite beverage to keep her mind focussed and active. I was also sure she would have bangs.
I already mentioned on IG how awesome this is but I’ll just reiterate here how well this is crafted with the great contrasts. And as mentioned her hair is perfect.

Let’s be real here. J/C Monday’s because candlelight dinners alone in the captain’s quarters while you give each other sultry looks and choke down her horrible replicated food is not something that “just friends” do.
We never saw Tuvok choke down Janeway’s replicated food. Nope. That guy preferred to eat Neelix’s who-knows-what meal. Like he tried it once a long time ago when she had him and his family over and was like “Continuing to eat this bad food is illogical” and it never happened again.
But not Chakotay. He eats her horrible food because it means being alone with her in a dim room mainly lit by candles. That’s fucking love. That’s not friendship.
at first I thought this was a recent speech/interview Kate did, then I took a second look at the gif and realized this must have been done back when Voyager aired.

Every time there’s a small possibility of Chakotay kissing Kathryn but someone interrupts them or she backs away this is literally my expression! ☝ You could sense the tension between them God!
All I need is a Star Trek Voyager movie.
