I just really want to know…why didn’t these two wind up together at the end? They were perfect for each other!!!! Janeway and Chakotay….hmmm…trying to mash the names without it sounding silly. Once I come up with one, I will be back with the name!!
Because the producers in charge by the end were creepy sexist ageist dudes. To them I say:

Fanfic is no waste of time. I ficced Star Trek so hard that eventually Paramount started paying me (through Pocket Books) to write it professionally. I spent more or less three months fairly high up on the New York Times Bestseller List because of having gotten really good at writing Trek while writing hundreds of thousands of words of fanfic. (Your first million words are for practice, David gerrold always used to say, and I think he may be right.)
And fanfic is a source of joy: for the reader, ideally, but at least for the writer. True joy is never wasted.
Literally I love every single person in this fandom. Like I’ve been feeling pretty down lately because I recently lost my best (and only) friend but every time I come on here y’all make my day just that much better.
So maybe it’s not as much a deleted scene as it is a deleted angle because somebody *cough* Chakotay *cough* is getting a little comfortable with his Captain. Every time I see them standing right next to each other I like to think about where his hands are….
